Gratitud.

  1. Preguntan ¿Y qué voy a agradecer?

Vas a agradecer:

  1. Que puedes respirar.
  2. Que has despertado un día más.
  3. Que tienes un lugar donde dormir.

Good bye blog.

When I started blogging, the internet world was a very different place and my life was also very different, I also was a lot younger. XD

Today I see no point to keep this blog in the format it has today.

Driving people here to read my content gets harder and harder every time, sometimes I feel like Sisiphus pushing the rock to the top of the mountain, only to see it fall again and run me over like a truck out of control.

And social media is taking over the attention and the fingers of the people.

So it is kind of a lost battle in a way.

And if you add that I have Gumroad page where I sell my online courses and Zines and I have a Patreon page for my drawing lessons, it becomes a five headed monster that tries to eat me while dwarf hangs on my balls.

So, this is my last formal post here, now most of the blogging will happen on my Instagram profile, Medium page and maybe Facebook page.

This blog will remain with the free domain address: nadamasjuan.wordpress.com as an archive of selected posts from my Instagram feed.

The podcast will continue, now in Spanish and English and it will be available on Anchor and Spotify. Here is the url https://anchor.fm/juan-silva99 .

Ok, so it is time to say thank you to all of you have followed this blog over the years and for those who have recently discovered it, see you on Instagram as @nadamasjuan.

It is been a pleasure and huge learning experience, no it is time to move on and grow in different ways.

With love, Juan.

See.

Training your creativity implies training your ability to see things as they can be, not just as they are now.

A painter sees a blank canvas and also sees her work created on that canvas.

A sculptor sees a block of marble and is also capable of seeing a finished statue.

Or think of a musician who sees a blank piece of paper and also sees the notes she is going to write to create a melody.

And it applies every area of our lives.

Think of a mum or a dad who is about to cook a delicious meal for the family and has all the ingredients on the table, she and he are capable of seeing the ingredients as well as the final result.

Now think of your life and my life, if you are able to see your life as it is now and at the same time see it (in your mind) as a life with more exciting activities, more prosperity, love and wisdom, then chances are that you WILL create that life.

Same for your projects, if you can see clearly the final result, as well as your start point, and you keep that vision in your mind as you apply your strategies with discipline and hard work, you will be able to create major and positive changes in your life, in any area you want.

So, I suggest you exercise your imagination daily, in every way you can, so when you need it for a project or a life changing decision, it will be ready for you.

It Sucks To Be a Human.

Sometimes it sucks to be a human.

If you see it from the perspective that we live in a body that needs daily maintenance, that for sure is getting old, that it is going to be sick sometimes, it is going ache and for sure, it is going to die, you may think that being a human sucks, big time.

At least I do think so, when I just see things under that lens.

But, this is important, I can change the way I see things, and so can you.

I decide to, yes, acknowledge all that I mentioned above, and also think that having a human body is great and unique opportunity to experience the world, to create stuff and enjoy the information and stimuli that my body and brain receives.

I decide to curate my own life experience through the lens of pure joy, bliss, awe and present moment attention.

Of course, bad shit still happens, but I decide to see it through that lens too, so I can learn about those experiences too, and complain less.

In my case, is about turning off my “inner bitch” you complains and whines about the coffee being cold, about not getting this his or her way and about all the downs in life.

And I believe you can choose which lens to use to see your life and to create your own story.

It it not about running away from problems, it is about consciously choosing and curating your thoughts and attitudes towards life.

You have one shot at this body, in this moment in time, in this circumstances, and so do I, lets get the most out of it, and lets live life so fully, so present, so in awe, that life will tired when we decide to say “bye, bye” and toggle off the coil.

Peace of mind.

Once or twice a day, I love to imagine my self meditating or just chillin out in a calm and gorgeous place in nature, something like the picture above.

It helps me to deeply relax and makes my brain produce a lot of serotonin and dopamine, the happy neurotransmitters which make me feel awesome.

I think of it like a superpower.

It is a superpower we all have, but rarely use it consciously.

The key is to remember that the subconscious mind, the one that creates feelings and triggers dopamine or cortisol depending on the situation, can not tell if the image it´s perceiving is real or is just an image you are creating.

In both cases, that part of your brain, will make the chemicals needed to feel the experience as real.

So, when you need to relax or to have a break or just want to travel inside your mind, sit for 5 minutes and visualize that you are in a place that makes you feel relaxed and happy.

It is pure imagination at work.

And it works great.

Joe Dispenza calls it Mental Rehearsal and Sandy Gallagher and Bob Proctor call it Visioneering.

Do yourself a favor, and google it.

Love.

I am not trying to be corny, but it is true.

At the end of the day, if you do not treat yourself and other people with love it does not matter how much money did you make or how many tasks you managed to do.

I mean talking nice and polite to yourself, taking good care of your body with healthy food and rest, allowing your mind to rest with some silence and meditation.

Now for the “other people” part it is pretty much the same thing, treat them with care, love and kindness, so they feel accepted and recognized by you.

Specially if you have a partner, or kids and partner.

Try it, is works every time.

Diet.

When I think of my diet, I don´t think just about food, drinks and suplements.

For me, my diet also includes what I read, what I hear, what I see and the art I get exposed to.

My visual diet, allows me to create a reservoir of visual ideas and element that later I will use to improvise a drawing, an illustration or a journal entry.

Like the blue mask you see at the top of this post.

Behind that image are a few hours of looking at african and tiki masks, other artists collages, appreciating colors and painted textures, like the ones from Rothko paintings.

So, make sure you have a healthy creative diet, so your creativity stays healthy and flexible, ready to be used at a moments notice.

XO XO Juan.

Gratitude.

You have to find daily opportunities to be grateful.

Do not wait for life to give you something extraordinary.

Do not wait until everything happens perfect.

Because if you do wait for life to be perfecto to be grateful, you will end up like a stiff, narrow minded -angry and gray human being.

So instead to wait the chance to be grateful for something, let´s make the daily habit to be grateful for a lot of things.

Just because it´s fun.

Just because we can.
